Does wood still need to be put in the fire pit?

Accepted Answer

When using the charcoal adapter, you only need to use charcoal to cook. If you want to burn a wood fire while the Cookout Kit is in the lower position, remove the charcoal adapter.

Can I use wood and charcoal at the same time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. But it is not recommended as the charcoal adapter sits halfway between the bottom of the Bonfire and the opening. Lighting both wood and charcoal would be unnecessary for cooking.

Question 3

Will it be compatible with the other size fire pits in the future?

Accepted Answer

At this time, it is only available for Bonfire, however, we are always open to feedback from our amazing Solo Stove community. If the demand is there, we would consider making the Cookout Kit available for additional fire pit sizes.

Question 4

What accessories is it compatible with? Can my Bonfire be in Surround Lite while in the stand?

Accepted Answer

It is compatible with a wide range of accessories, but not the Surround or Surround Lite. It works with accessories that rest on top of the fire pit such as the Shield, Lid, and Pi Fire.

Question 5

Do the flaps of the foldable stand get hot?

Accepted Answer

The shelves of the stand are spaced away from the fire pit, so they may get warm from the radiant heat, and should only be warm to the touch (weather conditions and proper fire maintenance assumed)

Does it have a cover?

Accepted Answer

At this time, there is no bespoke cover for this product. When not in use, feel free to store this portable grill kit in a covered area. We’re planning to eventually release a cover. Check back soon.

Question 7

How much weight can the stand hold in addition to the Bonfire?

Accepted Answer

This was tested to withstand the normal components (including the cast iron grill or griddle) and food while cooking. It is not recommended that additional heavy items (i.e. pots + pans) should be placed on any part of the cookout kit.

Question 8

What surfaces can the stand be on? Will the surface get hot?

Accepted Answer

The feet are designed to be on any surface. We recommend it should be placed on a flat and level surface for best results. The area underneath will not get hot when operating the cookout kit at full stand height. When cooking in the lower position it should function the same as a Bonfire with a Stand accessory.

How long do I have to wait before taking the Bonfire out?

Accepted Answer

After extinguishing the fire and removing all coals, your Bonfire 2.0 should cool down in 20 minutes or less.
