Ranger Elemental FAQs

No. While we’ve recently made some changes to our fire pit line, the legacy Fire Pit 1.0 models do not include a removable ash pan. You can check out the new 2.0 models HERE that include a removable ash pan

While we recommend using Bar Keeper’s Friend on our 304 stainless steel fire pits, this is too abrasive to use on your Elemental Color Series fire pit. Dirt, residue, and debris can be cleaned off using warm soapy water applied to a clean, lint-free towel. Never spray any cleaning solutions directly on your fire pit. Dampen the towel first, then clean your fire pit.

Fire Pits in the Elemental Color Series are constructed with 304 stainless steel and covered in a high heat ceramic coating.

Yes! Each color is designed to withstand the high heat of your fire pit and is safe to burn with even the hottest fires.

Fire pits in this color series will not have a visible patina where the ceramic coating has been applied. However, the flame ring and inner walls are not ceramic-coated and will achieve the signature patina look over time.

The ceramic coating resists normal wear and tear over time.

Turn your fire pit upside down, or use a shop vac to empty ashes. Do not roll your Elemental Color Series Fire Pit on the ground as this method could cause scratching.

The Ranger works great in a backyard or take it with you to your campsite.

Solo Stove Fire Pits can safely be used on a wood deck, but require your attention and action. Use on wood or composite decking can lead to charring or ignition if the fire pit is not adequately elevated, insulated, or misused. You should use Stand when using on a wood deck. Read up on what surfaces need Stand here.

Even when using Stand, wood and composite decking materials differ significantly in quality and treatment, and have varying heat resistance ratings. You should check with your manufacturer or builder to ensure your surfaces can handle high temperatures, or further elevate or insulate your fire pit to avoid potential damage.

Never leave your fire pit unattended on a combustible surface when hot - even while cooling down. Hot ashes can reignite and escape onto the surface.

Solo Stove Shield is also recommended to help prevent large embers from escaping the pit during a burn and Solo Stove Lid when done burning to keep ashes locked in.

No, your fire pit is ready to use with just wood. However, we do offer several accessories to make your experience even better. Check out our accessories here.

No. Your Ranger comes with a black, nylon carrying case. Ranger Shelter, an all weather cover, may be purchased separately if you would like to leave your Ranger outside.

You can roast over the open fire or assemble a Ranger cooking system. With our many add-ons like Hub which elevates Ranger's cooktops Griddle, Grill, and Wok for full course meals made with ease.

The Solo Stove Lite, Titan and Campfire are more portable backpacking and camping stoves meant for cooking. The Ranger is the most portable of our backyard fire pits and was designed to accommodate larger groups who enjoy sitting around a beautiful, smoke free flame.

Any firewood logs will burn but for optimum efficiency we recommend dry hard woods. Hardwoods such as birch, maple, hickory and oak will burn longer than softwoods.

We recommend using 4-6 logs up to 12" long.. Don't overfill your Ranger. Once you have a hot bed of embers, you can always throw on more logs. To minimize smoke and optimize your flame, don't fill the wood above the holes at the top of the fire pit.

After your Ranger is cool, turn it upside down to empty any remaining ashes left in your stove. Keep your Ranger in a cool and dry place when not in use. It’s that easy!
YES! Do not touch any part of the Ranger when in use. It will be extremely hot. Children should always be under parental supervision when around the Ranger. Use common sense and treat the Ranger like any other fire.
Yes, however we recommend 2+ inches of clearance around the unit for proper ventilation.

⚠️WARNING: The combustion products emitted when this product is burning can expose you to chemicals including carbon monoxide which is known by the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to
